Phenibut (also known as Noofen or Fenibut) is a synthetic derivative of GABA which is a neurotransmitter that is primarily inhibitory in nature. If you look at the Phenibut chemical structure, it is essentially a GABA molecule with a Phenyl molecular ring attached to it.

Phenibut is usually seen in form of 250mg capsules used as an anxyolitic to help reduce anxiety, tension and fear. 


Ensuring effects

Phenibut is a bit more tricky than your average compund. Its absorbation is easily hindered by food, and it takes a long time to start working (~2hrs). Peak effects are usually 4-7 hours after administration. Therefore follow these rules when taking Phenibut:

  1. No calories in the 2-hour window before administration
  2. No calories in the 1-hour window after administration
  3. Wait 6 hours before evaluating if you need more



Everyone have a different brain chemistry. This implies that people react differently to the same dosage. Start out carefully (1000mg max).

Anyway, here is a general outline of the dosage:

From this, we understand that dosing every other day is not sustainable: that implies you have more hours in a week on Phenibut than off.
